Chief Studio and Real Estate Officer
Representing the fourth generation of his family in the Los Angeles entertainment industry, Jason has spent his career working in studio operations, production real estate and design, producing and production management. Jason started his career at Paramount Pictures and Universal Studios, later directing the operations at The Culver Studios. Jason is the team leader responsible for growing the HCP-MBS Studio and Media Platform globally through acquisitions, studio service agreements, global logistics partnerships, studio design and development, and management. Jason was most recently the Head of Worldwide Production Operations & Real Estate for Netflix, where he was globally responsible for production and studio operations for nearly 1,000 production per year, including overseeing production services, transportation, safety, security, insurance, risk management, crew training, and production strategy, as well as overseeing real estate acquisitions, leasing, construction, development, and facility operations. He crafted and executed Netflix’s master-lease strategy that included over 20 studio campus deals to create the largest production infrastructure footprint in the industry, with over 115 sound stages throughout the world’s major production markets. Previously, Jason was VP/Head of Media & Entertainment for Hudson Pacific Properties, where he oversaw the revitalization and management of the then-largest independent studio platform in the U.S., and the acquisition and operations of the Ocean Way Recording Studios.
From 2008-2011 Jason served as Advisor for Film & Media Industries to former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson. He is a voting member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (Emmys), sits on the Board of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce & Walk of Fame, and is Co-Chairman of the Producers Guild of America’s FilmUSA Committee, the preeminent media industry advocate and authority on production infrastructure and incentives.
