Ms. Mwaniki is a Kenyan and British national with 25 years of professional experience in Banking and Payments spanning 4 continents.
Prior to being a co-Founder of Avunja Mobile, a fintech enabling youth to earn reliable income using their mobile phones, she was SVP Social Impact at Visa Inc in San Francisco and Vice Chairman of the Visa Foundation. Her Banking career span 20 years with Standard Chartered across Kenya, the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore and India. Marianne is also a Founding LP for Sherpa Africa, a fund comprised of founders investing in early stage African Founders.
Marianne is Chair of Junior League of Nairobi and a Board Trustee of The Partnership Initiative, Oxford.
She holds an MSc from London School of Economics.
